Editorial standards, sourcing & corrections

How Greedy Insider researches, sources, reviews, and corrects its insider-filing analysis - and who is responsible for it.

Primary sources only

Every claim about a filing is built from the primary document. Insider trades come from SEC Form 4 filings on EDGAR, congressional trades from the official House and Senate periodic transaction reports, and activist stakes from Schedule 13D filings. We link to the source so you can verify it yourself.

When we describe a filing, we describe what the document establishes - who traded, the transaction code, the shares, the price, and the holdings afterward - and we separate that from interpretation and narrative.

What our scores do and do not claim

The Greediness Score is a transparent 0-100 measure of how a filing is structured. It is not a prediction of returns, and our own historical validation has not demonstrated predictive power. We say so plainly on every page rather than implying an edge we cannot support.

When a filing lacks the data a factor needs, that factor is excluded and the score is labeled lower-confidence. A number built on missing inputs should not look confident.

Review and corrections

Interpretive and methodology pages are reviewed by the methodology desk before publication. Definitional guides are reviewed for factual accuracy against the underlying SEC rules.

If you spot an error, tell us and we will fix it. Material corrections are reflected in the article and its "last updated" date. We do not silently rewrite history on claims that mattered.

Not investment advice

Greedy Insider is a research and educational tool. Nothing we publish is investment advice, a recommendation, or an endorsement of any security. Disclosure data can be delayed, incomplete, or contain errors. Always do your own research and consult a licensed financial advisor before making investment decisions.

Who writes and reviews this

Greedy Insider Research - Research desk

The Greedy Insider research desk analyzes SEC Form 4 filings, congressional STOCK Act disclosures, and Schedule 13D activist stakes. Every article is built from primary-source documents on SEC EDGAR and the official House and Senate clerks, and describes filing structure rather than predicting returns.

Greedy Insider Methodology Review - Scoring & methodology review

The methodology review owns the Greediness Score factor models and reviews interpretive claims for accuracy and calibration. Its standing position: a high score describes how a filing is structured, not whether the security will rise or fall.
